Sypnosis from US Macmillan:
I recieved an eARC of Oasis from the author and publisher, Macmillan US, all thoughts are my own.
Well, well, well! Katya De Becerra has indeed knocked my socks off once again! She’s an utterly fabulous and engaging author, I love her debut, What the Woods Keep and I’m so excited for the world to read this! It’s such a twisted, addictive story that definitely had me wondering what is real and what isn’t!
What starts as a planned getaway for Alif and her best friends at an archeological dig site turns into a fight for survival unlike no other! The word building in this story was absolutely addictive, I couldn’t put it down and could not wait to see what would unfold next! It was quite incredible, the way Katya De Becerra depicts not only the day to day archeology activities, but when everyone stumbles upon the Oasis itself – from then on I could not fathom what would come next!
Alif and her friends are such a likeable bunch, and it was really clever and angsty seeing everyone develop from a carefree and curious group who all relied on one another and who all had such close friendships, unravel ever so wildly at the sight of this supposed Oasis. What was happening? What is real? Who knew!
I truly think it’s best to go into this novel with as little context as possible! This is one of the most unique, wild and addictive stories I’ve read in some time and will definitely stick with me for some time yet!
You don’t want to miss Oasis!
