January 2019 Reading Wrap Up

Hi book lovers! How is it that we’re already a month into 2019?! Honestly, crazy how time is spinning by so fast!

I always tell myself I should do more of these wrap up posts, so I’m going to really try to do them more this year!

Speaking of this year, I read 13 books so far in this month of January – They were a mix of my owned TBR as part of The Unread Shelf Project 2019, as well as some review books and a couple of re reads, naturally. 😹

My January reading wrap up as follows:

Match Me If You Can by Tiana Smith – ARC provided in exchange for an honest review from Swoon Reads and Pan Macmillian Australia- a really fun and addictive book, I feel like the author captured high school life so perfectly and I really enjoyed this one! 4 out of 5 stars.

Dumplin by Julie Murphy- this book was every thing I had hoped – the plus sized rep made me so happy and I aspire to have a bit of Willowdean’s frank honestly in life – 4 out of 5 stars.

Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare – OMG. MY FEELS. This book, honestly I can’t even. So many emotions. I needs more! The ending of one of the most perfect trilogies ever, I am still thinkinh about everything so much! 5 out of 5 stars.

Iron Gold by Pierce Brown – I had been putting off reading this one for so long – honestly, I’m still pretty conflicted about what went down but I need the next book! 4 out of 5 stars.

The Lost Sisters by Holly Black – I didn’t think I could hate Taryn more than I did already, turns out I was wrong. Holly Black is brilliance personified! 4 out of 5 stars.

The Cruel Prince by Holly Black- a re read in anticipation for The Wicked King (which I’ve since read and I’m not sure how to word, ahhhhh?!) One of my favourite books of last year and every bit as dark and thrilling the second time around. 5 out of 5 stars.

Ash Princess by Laura Sebastian – this was utterly glorious and dark and magical and wonderful and I loved every moment! 5 out of 5 stars.

White Stag by Kara Barbieri – I thoroughly enjoyed it! A survival story with goblin lore embedded throughout! 4 out of 5 stars. ARC provided in exchange for an honest review from Pan Macmillian Australia.

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo – a re read in the hope that I could re read all the Grisha novels before the much awaited King of Scars, but that didn’t happen on my part – however, The Grisha series is one of my favourites of all times and it was just delightful to fall back into the world of Alina and The Darkling. 5 out of 5 stars.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by JK Rowling- kind of planning a year long re read, because Harry Potter is life, always. 5 out of 5 stars.

Lady Smoke by Laura Sebastian- ARC provided by Pan Macmillian Australia in exchange for an honest review. Utterly glorious and dark and intriguing and everything I had hoped for and more! 5 out of 5 stars.

And that concludes my January wrap up post! What were some books you enjoyed this month?

Happy Reading,
