Sypnosis from Goodreads:
Simon Snow is the worst chosen one who’s ever been chosen
That’s what his roommate, Baz, says. And Baz might be evil and a vampire and a complete git, but he’s probably right.
Half the time Simon can’t even make his wand work, and the other half, he sets something on fire. His mentor’s avoiding him, his girlfriend broke up with him, and there’s a magic-eating monster running around wearing Simon’s face. Baz would be having a field day with all this, if he were here – it’s their last year at Watford School of Magicks, and Simon’s infuriating nemesis didn’t even bother to show up.
Carry On is a love letter to love stories and the power of words – to every ‘chosen one’ who ever had more on their mind than saving the world.
My mini Review:
This book was such an unexpected pleasure! I absolutely loved Fangirl and Landline, but I didn’t know what to expect from Carry On! The result is one of my all time favourite stand alone books! And I’m lamenting that it’s a stand alone because I’d happily read ALL the books about Simon and Baz! This book was full of so many delightful feels and ALOT of angst, it was such an addictive read and my heart was constantly feeling! The fantasy element felt really natural, and the writing was fast paced, I was constantly kept guessing what would come next! It was full of a lot of twists and turns, some things I couldn’t have guessed, and it was amazing! I buddy read this with one of my closest friends, we analysed every chapter; and I can safely say it’s something we’d both recommend to all! The characters will long stay with me and I can see myself re visiting this world! I would love to read more with these characters, Baz and Simon have got to be two of the most precious characters out there! Definitely an outstanding book!
Happy reading 🙂
