Sypnosis from Goodreads:

Belle is a lot of things: smart, resourceful, restless. She longs to escape her poor provincial town for good. She wants to explore the world, despite her father’s reluctance to leave their little cottage in case Belle’s mother returns–a mother she barely remembers. Belle also happens to be the captive of a terrifying, angry beast. And that is her primary concern.

But Belle touches the Beast’s enchanted rose, intriguing images flood her mind–images of the mother she believed she would never see again. Stranger still, she sees that her mother is none other than the beautiful Enchantress who cursed the Beast, his castle, and all its inhabitants. Shocked and confused, Belle and the Beast must work together to unravel a dark mystery about their families that is twenty-one years in the making.

My Review:

Ahhhh oh my goodness what a fabulous reimagining of such a classic tale! This was honestly so perfect, I hardly know where to begin! It’s actually made me see all the characters in such a new way, and changed how I think about the classic story and all its characters!

Literally, there were a lot of twists and turns in this one that I didn’t see coming! It was brilliant! What the author did, how she twisted some characters and changed up their story arc from the original text, and the movie (I pictured the re make cast in their roles, I could see them saying their lines and performing the actions perfectly!) I definitely felt all the nostalgia for Mrs Potts and Chip! There was something that the author did, with Mrs Pott’s husband that I honestly did not see coming; and by golly it gave me ALL the chills! And honestly, the idea that it was Belle’s mother that cursed the Beast? Utter brilliance! This here actually provided a lot of awesome in the storytelling, it was told with multiple points of view, firstly from of course Belle, but then her father, Maurice! I loved learning about Belle’s parents, and honestly the book was just brilliant! It’s definitely become a fast favourite and I can’t wait to read the author’s other retellings! I’ll definitely read this one again too!

And that concludes my review, until next time, happy reading!
