Sypnosis from Goodreads:
I need you to understand something. I wrote this for you. I wrote this for you and only you. Everyone else who reads it, doesn’t get it. They may think they get it, but they don’t. This is the sign you’ve been looking for. You were meant to read these words.
I remember hearing about this book, I forgot how; but I remember being intrigued instantly; so I was excited when the hold for this book came through at the library; I mean the premise, as you can read above, is definitely inviting, and as I started to read it, I found it to be intriguing, it started off with some great poems, and the pictures were definitely amazing.
However, I noticed a repetitive pattern, and also for me the ‘poems’ started to not feel as impactful and they were definitely starting to sound like one another. It’s a shame, because I feel like this book could’ve been something amazing, but alas, it wasn’t to be. I just felt very neutral throughout, wishing the words were more impactful. Poetry often speaks right to my soul, but this just didn’t.
And that concludes my review, until next time, happy reading, Brooklyn 🙂
